The Challenge
The problem:
In this course, my team worked with a real client, Rooted + Wilder, a small business focused on clean skincare for sensitive skin. We were tasked with developing a complete marketing campaign.

The objective of the project:
To create a strategic and cohesive campaign that increases brand awareness, engagement, and customer interest.

The constraints:
- Work within a team of three
- Align all content with the client’s existing branding
- Develop a realistic and executable marketing plan
- Base decisions on research and strategy
Research & Inspiration
Our team began by researching the brand, its audience, and the clean skincare market.

We focused on:
- Understanding the needs of people with sensitive skin
- Identifying the target audience
- Analyzing how similar brands market themselves

From this research, we developed:
- A clear mission, objectives, and goals
- A defined campaign theme
- A structured approach to content and engagement

These insights guided all creative and strategic decisions throughout the project.
Ideation & Early Concepts
During ideation, we explored how to best position the brand and connect with its audience.

We developed:
- A campaign theme aligned with the brand’s values
- A content strategy based on the AIDA model (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action)
- Ideas for increasing engagement, such as incentives and interactive content

We also created a detailed content calendar outlining when and how content should be posted.
Design Process
Our team built out a full marketing campaign that included:
- A content calendar with posting schedules
- Social media strategy across multiple platforms
- Email marketing campaign concepts
- Engagement strategies and incentives
- A realistic campaign budget

I specifically contributed by:
- Designing social media posts using Canva
- Writing captions aligned with the brand voice
- Compiling the final presentation for the client

Throughout the process, I also took initiative in organizing the project. Since my group struggled with procrastination, I created slides ahead of time and used placeholders to keep us on track. I also helped guide the team to ensure the overall quality met expectations.

- Content and platform strategies
- Visual and written brand-aligned content
- Clear metrics for measuring success

The final presentation was designed using the client’s branding and visuals, making it both professional and ready for real-world use.

Reflection
This project gave me valuable experience in building a marketing campaign from the ground up.

I learned:
- How to create a cohesive strategy based on research
- How to align content with an existing brand
- How to plan and organize a full campaign across platforms

It also strengthened my ability to take initiative in a team setting. I learned how to manage challenges like uneven workload and maintain quality by stepping into a leadership role when needed.

If I revisited this project, I would:
- Expand the visual content further
- Test campaign elements with real users
- Refine engagement strategies based on performance data
